Types of ASD Systems
Stratos HSSD 2
Stratos HSSD 2 is designed to provide very high sensitivity smoke detection for large areas. ClassiFire Perceptive Artificial Intelligence ensures that the detector operates at optimum sensitivity for the protected environment, without the need for complex setup. This means the detector will configure itself to provide high sensitivity in a computer room or reduced sensitivity in a smoky area. Volt-free contacts ensure compatibility with any fire alarm system. Each detector is provided with 3 monitored inputs. The inputs may be configured for a number of functions, see technical documentation for full details.
- Large area aspirating smoke detector, up to 2000m2 coverage
- High sensitivity provided by laser based forward light scatter for reliable early warning
- EN54 Part 20 approved
- Unique ClassiFire® Perceptive Artificial Intelligence system that dynamically adjusts the detector’s operating parameters, allowing for day to day changes in the protected environment and system contamination
- Unwanted alarms from dust are avoided using patented Dual Technology LDD 3D3 Laser Dust Discrimination and elimination system
- 4 sampling pipes, up to 200m maximum total lengthzRS485 communications built in as standard for networking and remote communications
Micro 100
Stratos-Micra 100 is designed to provide very high sensitivity smoke detection in a small package.
ClassiFire Perceptive Artificial Intelligence ensures that the detector operates at optimum sensitivity for the protected environment, without the need for complex setup. This means the product will configure itself to provide high sensitivity in a computer room or reduced sensitivity in a smoky area. The detector is designed to fit into a Docking Station. All sampling pipes and cables are connected to the Docking Station as a first fix operation leaving the detector to be fitted during the final commissioning phase if required. This ensures that detectors are less likely to be damaged during the installation. Volt-free contacts ensure compatibility with any fire alarm system.
- Small, low cost aspirating smoke detector for easy and discreet installation
- High sensitivity provided by laser based forward light scatter for reliable early warning
- Two sampling pipes (100m aggregate) for flexibility
- Unique ClassiFire® Perceptive Artificial Intelligence system that dynamically adjusts the detector’s operating parameters, allowing for day to day changes in the protected environment and system contamination
- Unwanted alarms from dust are avoided using patented Dual Technology LDD 3D3 Laser Dust Discrimination and elimination system
- EN54 Part 20 approved
Micro 25
Stratos-Micra 25 is designed to provide very high sensitivity smoke detection in a small package.

Stratos Nano
Stratos-Nano is designed to provide reliable aspirating smoke detection in a small, easy to install package. The detector is supplied in a ABS enclosure. An internal DIL switch enables simple on-site programming without the need for a special programmer or laptop PC. ClassiFire Perceptive Artificial Intelligence ensures that the detector operates at optimum sensitivity for the protected environment, without the need for complex setup. This means the product will configure itself to provide high sensitivity in a small comms room or reduced sensitivity in a smoky area.Volt free contacts ensure compatibility with any fire alarm system.
- Designed to bring the benefits of laser based Aspirating Smoke Detection to applications where cost would previously have limited installations to 'point detector in a fan box' type systems
- High sensitivity provided by laser based forward light scatter for reliable early warning
- Laser smoke sensor chamber specially designed for aspirating detection avoids the airflow problems associated with 'point-in-a-box' type solutions
- Up to 50m of sampling pipe with 10 sampling holes
- Unwanted alarms from dust are avoided using patented Dual Technology LDD 3D3 Laser Dust Discrimination and elimination system
- Easy commissioning without the need for a PC
- EN54 Part 20 approved
Command Module
Network control of up to 127 detectors.
RS485 Communications Built in Short Isolators for optimum reliability Integral Serial Interface programmable for TAP text messages/paging or BACnet BMS communications RS232 serial interface for SenseNET PC Graphical Management System Stand-alone or combined in HSSD 2 detector enclosure Stratos Command Module provides a single location display, control and interfacing option for networks of up to 127 detectors. Any detector on the network can be programmed or interrogated from one central location. Global programming allows the engineer to change configuration settings on all detectors simultaneously. As default the Command Module will always display the status of the detector with the highest smoke level to identify potential problem areas. Interfacing of all detectors on the network can be simplified by using the common set of alarm and fault relays in the command module. An APIC (addressable Protocol Interface Card) can be used with the command module to interface all networked detectors onto an addressable loop from a single location. The APIC will transmit status information for each detector on the network with each detector being displayed as a separate address at the fire alarm control panel. Interfacing to customers BMS system can easily be achieved using the Modbus output on the Command Module. Kidde Airsense will provide the Modbus protocol document on request. To save space and reduce installation times the command module can also be provided as part of a Stratos HSSD 2 providing detection capabilities along with central control and indication in one enclosure. A steel enclosure variant of the command module is also available for more industrial type applications.
