Carbon Dioxide

Carbon Dioxide

Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Systems have been used for many years after there pioneer Walter Kidde introduced the first commercial system in 1925.

The major benefit of CO2 systems are there flexibility. CO2 systems are available in both local application (in areas with no walls such as printing presses or dip tanks, spray booths and quench tanks), total flood systems for area protection as well as flexible hose line systems for cost effective protection for smaller fires.

Carbon Dioxide System’s suppresses fire by providing a blanket of heavy gas that absorbs heat from the fire and reduces the oxygen content of the atmosphere to a point where combustion becomes impossible. Damage-Free. A naturally-occurring Atmospheric element, Carbon Dioxide dissipates into the air allowing an almost immediate return to "business as usual" without the interruption of a costly clean-up and the expense of damage to assets from suppressant residue.

It is chemically inert, non-conductive, colourless, odourless and flavourless
